AI Conversations

Every conversation, rehearsed before it counts.

AI Conversations lets learners hold free-form, natural conversations with more than 65 AI patients — practicing history-taking, clinical reasoning, and the hard conversations, from breaking bad news to de-escalation. It runs in any browser with no headset or app, and plugs into the GigXR ecosystem for blended learning.

Why AI Conversations

Rehearse the conversation before it counts.

Structured history-taking, on repeat

Practice frameworks like SOCRATES and exploring a patient's ideas, concerns, and expectations across chronic and acute presentations — as often as it takes.

The problem it solves: Real history-taking reps are limited and unevenly assessed before clinical placements.

Rehearse the hard conversations safely

Break bad news, discuss end-of-life care, de-escalate a distressed patient, and navigate sensitive disclosures in a safe-to-fail environment.

The problem it solves: High-stakes conversations are rarely practiced until they happen with a real patient.

Feedback that closes the loop

Downloadable, time-stamped transcripts and ISBARR-style summaries let learners spot missed cues and let facilitators give specific, constructive feedback.

The problem it solves: Communication skills are hard to assess and improve without a concrete record.

How it's used

Before placements, and in the communication block.

Before a clinical placement, students work through a set of cases at their level — taking a focused history, forming a differential, then practicing how to explain it. For a communication block, the facilitator assigns an end-of-life conversation; afterward, students review their time-stamped transcript and debrief against the guide. Paired with HoloPatient, the same case can move from conversation to hands-on assessment.

Works well with…

A student wearing a mixed-reality headset assesses a holographic standardized patient as live vital signs are displayed.

HoloPatient

Standardized patients, brought to life as holograms.

Take the history here, then assess the case as a hologram — two halves of the same clinical encounter, from conversation to hands-on assessment.

Explore HoloPatient
A student wearing a mixed-reality headset examines a life-size holographic human anatomy model.

HoloHuman+

The whole body, in the room with you.

Ground the conversation in the underlying anatomy — explore the structures and systems that explain what the patient describes.
